Astrological Embodiment Of the Day – AEOD
5/23/2022 @1PM PST
These Aeod’s are intended as fun experiments. Please consult wherever you want/need to before partaking in any of them. The central postulate is that attempting to experience these astrological forces more directly with the body may assist us in learning to surf these ever-changing astrological waves with greater instinctual resonance. Currently, astrology seems somewhat trapped in the mental/theoretical. I hope these efforts assist the astrological community in exploring a wider territory. The embodiment exercises listed are just examples of infinite options. You could put all of these influences into form tweaks for one exercise, or one field of endeavor Ex: powerlifting, arm wrestling, ballet, ping pong, etc.
Current Planetary Placements: Anatomical connections
Personal Planets (fast moving)
- Sun at 2 Gemini: core identity centers around arms, hands, shoulders, and lungs.
- Moon at 15 Pisces: current emotional tone resonating with feet, toes, and adipose tissue
- Mercury at 29 Taurus (Retrograde): thinking/communication centered in the neck, throat, and shoulders
- Venus at 24 Aries: magnetic attraction starts with the eyes, head, and face
- Mars at 29 Pisces: action draws motivation from feet, toes, and adipose tissue
Social Planets (slower moving)
- Jupiter at 2 Aries: faith found in eyes, head, and face
- Saturn at 25 Aquarius: commitment and stability in the calves, ankles, and circulatory system
Transpersonal Planets (slowest moving)
- Uranus at 15 Taurus: electric liberation emanating from throat, neck, and shoulders
- Neptune at 25 Pisces: dissolving spirituality enters through feet, toes, and adipose tissue
- Pluto at 28 Capricorn: transformation begins in the knees, joints, and skeleton
Aspects – Actions:
Mars Sextile Mercury; force of action in feet allies with force of thinking in neck.
- Head-over-foot walking style. First, take a short walk, noticing the relationship between the head and the feet, how the head likes to stay over the foot, and how it feels when they do not track in this way. Then, while walking, try holding/moving the head and/or feet in different ways, discovering how this relationship changes.
Sun Sextile Jupiter; force of identity in arms allies with force of faith in head
- Hand-eye coordination. Move one arm around, allowing the eyes to follow it. Repeat with the other arm. Challenge this system by throwing and catching various objects safely.
Moon Sextile Uranus; force of emotion in feet allies with force of liberation in neck
- Walk, allowing your mood to express through the feet in the way you walk. Allow the style to change if the mood changes. Allow sounds to come out spontaneously that express these moods.
Mercury Trine Pluto; forces of thinking in neck and transformation in skeleton connected via underground river
- Slow neck mobilizations support accessing transformations of the skeletal system. Move the neck through your current full ROM until your relationship with your skeletal system in that position has been transformed. Repeat in two other positions. Ex: standing, folded forward, squatting (“asian” style, just resting at the bottom).
Mars Sextile Pluto; force of action in feet is allied with force transformation in skeleton
- Standing upright, slowly move your weight around to different parts of your feet, exploring. Notice how the rest of the body shifts with these shifts in the feet. Once you’ve explored for a few minutes, pick one and hold it, relaxing into each exhale in the new posture until the skeletal system has transformed somehow. Re-explore this new relationship to loosen up, the repeat the hold two more times, either the same position or a new one.
Venus Sextile Saturn – force of magnetism in head allies with force of commitment in calves
- Focus on something you wish to attract to you (as opposed to go get yourself). Once that focus has been established, spend time walking in search of a walking style that allies with that target. Play with pace, foot land, push off, etc focusing on calves/ankles.
